Your only chance is to turn around and face it. ![]() You try to run from it, but the more you run, the deeper, more terrible it grows behind you, its edges yawning at your heels. Here are some fantastic quotes written by Sam Lake taken from Max Payne 1 & 2: Max was never a dumb character, he was intelligent but failed to make the correct decisions (hamartia) and the graphic novels where always thought provoking. They were totally devoid of the advanced, intelligent poetic techniques that defined Max as a character and had just descended into rambling and general complaint about every situation he was in. I felt that the whole character of Max, who could conjure fantastic metaphors, thanks to the brilliant Sam Lake, had been utterly dumbed down until Max's monologues were dull, boring and completely witless. Now mechanically the game was sound, the gunplay was quite satisfying, the Euphoria physics engine was fun but the story and whole tone of the game was completely untrue to the series. Let me begin by stating that I was really upset after months of anticipation leading up to the release of Max Payne 3 to discover that Rockstar (who I had complete faith in), had, in my opinion ruined the franchise. ![]()
